The Implantation Process
For the first two weeks after conception the fertilized egg continues to develop and progress through the fallopian tube to the uterus. Once in the uterus it implants itself in the uterine wall. After the implantation process is complete, the fertilized egg is now considered an
embryo, thus marking the end of the germinal stage and the beginning of the embryonic stage.
