(Bloom Level: Knowledge)., 1. Students will review the 3Rs. 2. Students will be placed into groups of three. 3. The group will come up with a school-wide waste reduction plan (Think of the 3Rs). 4. They will each bring in items that can be reused to make a cover for the plan. 5. Each individual student in the group will write an evaluation of the 3Rs. Do you agree with using the 3Rs as guidelines to keep our environment cleaner? Do you support or oppose the 3Rs? Objective #3/4 Skills/Attitude, Objective #2 Skills Given various household items, the student will be able to sort them into a list (Reduce, Reuse, or Recycle with 90% proficiency. (Bloom Level: Application), 1. Students will be shown the recycling symbol. They will be asked what it is. If they say it means recycle. Teacher will ask the class to tell what they know about recycling. 2. Teacher will do a brief overview on reduce, reuse, recycle and how it impacts our earth. 3. Teacher will give have examples to give the students concrete examples. 4. Teacher will then play video on 3Rs. 5. Students will discuss/review 3Rs and give examples from the video of each. 6. Students will be asked to write the definition of the three Rs and give examples of each. Objective #1 Knowledge, Given various household items, the student will be able to sort them into a list (Reduce, Reuse, or Recycle with 90% proficiency. (Bloom Level: Application) 1. After learning about the 3Rs the students will be able to apply the knowledge of the 3Rs by demonstrating reducing, reusing, recycle when given every day items. 2. Teacher will review terms during a class discussion. 3. Teacher will play 3Rs video as review. 4. Students will be put in groups and given household items that can be thrown away. 5. Students will use what they learned and apply the knowledge by sorting the items into three groups: Reuse, Reduce, Recycle. 6. Each student in the group will receive a worksheet that they fill out independently. The worksheet has the items as well as the three categories. They must write the items that they placed in the categories.
