EXPLORE: Exploration Centers Teacher: Explains the directions for each of the three exploration centers. Students: Rotate through the following exploration centers: 1. Button Sorts Students sort a variety of buttons according to color, size, and/or shape. Students will be asked to verbally justify their sorts and describe the properties they were observing. (NOS) 2. A Closer Look Students chose an object from a group of objects. The students draw the object while looking at it with their naked eye. Students will then observe the same object using a magnifying lens. They will record what they observe and compare it to their first drawing. (NOS) 3. What is in the Mirror? Students look at themselves in a small mirror in order to draw what their eyes look like. In their drawing, they will record the color, shape, and size of their eyes.
