Biography
Born on July 20, 1961 in Augusta Georgia, accomplished actor Laurence Fishburne made his acting debut at age 11 on the soap opera One Life To Live. At age 14 Fishburne lied about his age in order to be cast in the movie "Apocalypse Now." After appearing in a number of other films such as "Rumble Fish," "The Cotton Club," and "Garden's of Stone," Fishburne made an odd career choice by taking up a recurring role as "Cowboy Curtis" on the children's television series "Pee-Wee's Playhouse." Since leaving the playhouse, Fishburne has starred in such movies as "Boys N the Hood," "Deep Cover," "Searching for Bobby Fisher," "Othello," "Fled," "Event Horizon," and "The Matrix."
