Prognosis of free from lameness and clinical dysfunction is > 90% in dogs with medial 
patella luxation after surgery.  You will likely see degenerative joint disease in almost all 
affected stifles.In addition, there is as high as a 48% chance of recurrence after surgical 
stabilization which is usually of a lower grade than the original luxation.
