Prognosis

The prognosis is relatively good considering the animal will probably 
only be used for breeding purposes, so it only really needs to be pasture sound.  
Even if surgery isn't performed and the leg is stabilized the animal can still be collected and used for breeding. Prognosis is improved because there is blood supply to 
the fracture and it has started healing itself.  The fact that it is 
also a growing calf improves the prognosis.  If the fracture is well 
immobilized and infection is controlled the prognosis is good.
