Plan of Action We would like to take radiographs to localize the injury to a specific joint. The left front leg distal to the carpal joint is of particular interest. We would take multiple views of this area. We would also do a CBC to determine if the animal is septic. Impression smears of the purulent exudate would be taken to check for the presence of bacteria. A culture and sensitivity of the exudate and joint fluid should also be taken to determine if there is a bacterial infection.
