Facts 3 YO spayed female pomeranian, 11.6 pounds Indoor dog Owners have another dog; the two play well together Fed 1 small can dinner / day Lame in Right hind leg Fell off bed one year ago with weight Ð bearing lameness on RR leg Clinically normal one month post injury 6 months later started showing mild RR lameness Rx: anti-inflammatory injection 7 months post Ð injury; drug unknown, did not help Lameness has not progressed severely over last 6 months Vaccinated regularly, and on heartworm preventative Dewormed 2 months ago Occassional ÒallergiesÓ, which causes seasonal sneezing Rx: Benadryl PO when allergies act up; last administration 1 week ago Grade 3/4 intermittent, non-weight bearing lameness on RR leg Palpation of RR revealed that medial buttressing is possible on the stifle Cranial drawer NEG Patella easily luxated to medial side of trochlear groove with leg in extension Patella returns to trochlear groove when stifle is in flexion No abnormalities in hip joint, long bones, muscles, and other joints in leg Palpation of LR leg revealed only pain (tried to bite) when cranial drawer and patella luxation attempted Pain response elicited on dorsal flexion of tail No pain on direct pressure to spine and lumbosacral joint
