Nearest prototype methods
In a simple nearest neighbor system, we measure distances from each new point to its neighbors in the training set. A variant is to pick prototypes and measure distances from them.
So far as we know, this is the most widely cited paper in the field. We are now writing a paper on what we believe to be a significant advance in it.
