Rational for Facts: 1) 3yo, Pomeranian- young dogs and certain breeds are more susceptible to certain diseases, this will be a learning issue 2) Lameness in right hind- indicates that injury is localized 3) Overweight (11.6lbs)- could potentially exacerbate any lameness by adding stress to joint, learning issue to determine average weight of breed 4) Fell off bed 1 year ago- could be initial cause of lameness 5) Lameness occurred and relapsed 6 mo later- indicates inability of body to heal on own 6) Tx with anti-inflammatory injection; no effect-indicates injury is unresponsive to pain med, and negates inflammatory process (i.e. prostaglandin release) as cause of pain 7) Non progressive lameness-rules out possibility of lameness due to progressive septic infection 8) Indoor dog, plays with other house dog-Ôrough housingÕ could be cause/exacerbation of lameness 9) Grade 3/4 intermittent non-weight bearing lameness of right hind-unsure of clinical importance of intermittent lameness, learning issue 10) Medial buttressing of right stifle-learning issue 11) Cranial drawer negative on right- rules out cruciate ligament tear/rupture 12) Easily luxated patella in extensionÑsomething wrong with patella, learning issue 13) pain response when testing left hind limb-possibly due to dogs temperament or could indicate passive injury 1) pain response with dorsal reflexion of tail, no pain response with direct pressure
