Route of Delivery

We feel that because the patient has disease ileum we are recommending 
parenteral nutrition because there is a non-functioning GI tract.  We 
recommended a central line because the extensive output (greater than 
700 ccs), which leads us to believe he needs a long-term nutrition 
repletion (>than 5 days).  We eliminated peripheral nutrition because 
of the bulkiness of protein molecules.
